Fire Mario - Legos

I recently discovered a big box of Legos that my little brother had. With nothing better to do, I figured that I'd take a cue from something I saw a while back; "Physical sprites" made from those neat colored beads that you arrange on a grid, then iron to cause them to stick. Or some shit. Those neat SMB magnets that Jlist.com are selling gave me some inspiration as well.

Anyway, I had first tried to make a SMB3 Mario Sprite out of Lego, but I didn't have enough Black Bricks for the job. Undefeated, I went a step down, using a frame of Mario's running animation in SMB1 with a grid overlaid in MS Paint.

This took about an hour, and it now it sits in my living room, sort of like a trophy. To commemorate the accomplishment, I figured I'd build the sage from the original Legend of Zelda. He's sitting in the background of the photo, and that's my mother's hand flipping the bird as she was clearing stuff away.
